Ready for something a little different in casual dining? Then, particularly if you are interested in antiques, the Back Porch Tea Room is for you! The Back Porch Tea Room is a bit off the beaten path if you are vacationing or staying in Orlando Florida. If you are on the West end of the city, as are many that visit to take in the theme parks, the Back Porch Tea Room is then closer.
With lots of seating inside in air conditioning, in the outside back porch, or on the back deck overlooking the lake, this tea room is open from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm daily, year round. It offers lots more than just a nice place to sit and enjoy including a drink, some soup or salad, a sandwich and a delicious dessert for a very low fixed price. A good deal, for sure, and the meal was lovely.
Their nutritious, and where possible, locally sourced menu caters to almost every taste, and you will be delighted with how their friendly and very capable servers deliver your picnic meal. Yes, in a picnic basket. Sorry, you can’t keep the basket. 🙂
The Back Porch Tea Room
At 45 minutes or so West of downtown Orlando, the Back Porch Tea Room is easy to get to. Head West on the I-4 to exit 48, and head South for 3 miles to County Road 557. It’s on the corner.
The Barn Antiques is here as well as The Stable shops
As I mentioned earlier, if you are interested in antiques, part of the Back Porch Restaurant complex includes The Barn Antiques and The Stable Family of Shops. Among many older treasures, The Barn offers a broad selection of antiques imported by the family from England.
Enjoy your visit to the The Back Porch Tea Room and browsing the offerings.
If antiques interest you, and you visit the Back Porch Tea Room, you might as well have a look at their antiques at the Barn. Their vast display of antiques, many of which are imported from jolly old England by the Wales family, are worth seeing.
The Barn Antiques welcomes you with this front door!
Inside, there is room after room of gorgeous antiques, sorted according to style and type.
Out the back is the antique stained glass barn. Need some antique stained glass for window? Not just the window can be acquired, but the stained glass in it, as well.
The Barn Antiques
The core antique business is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10-4, from October until May.
If you cannot get there then, you can certainly still visit for lunch at The Back Porch restaurant, and take in the broad range of offerings in The Stable Family of Shops.
The Barn Antiques, the Stable Shops, and the restaurant make the short drive from the Orlando area quite worthwhile. Who knows, you may just find the perfect antique or garden whimsy that you have been searching for.
