Orlando Shopping

I guess it depends on whether the kids will let you get away from the Orlando theme parks to do a little Orlando shopping?

If you can get away, as you move out of downtown Orlando, it seems as though there is a shopping plaza on almost every corner. Strip mall after strip mall. And, they are not all the same, with some offering oddities, or services, lots of restaurants (both local and chain), some thrift shops, many dollar stores, some outlet stores and more.

If you are interested in Orlando shopping, it would be impossible to list all the venues here. Though, if you want your shopping location listed, do contact me via the contact page and I will be glad to add appropriate info. What I want to tell you about here are three venues, where you can go nuts with Orlando shopping.

These are, reputedly, the largest outlet stores in greater Orlando.

Outlet Stores

It is hard to believe that someone doesn’t know what an outlet store is, but just in case you just landed from another planet, and outlet store is one that is owned by a major store brand, and is, supposedly, where that entire chain of that brand unloads their overstocks, older inventory, etc., and supposedly awesome prices.

However…

When shopping any outlet store, you won’t know if the prices there are good, unless you know what the prices are for comparable goods at the chain’s regular stores. So, if Orlando shopping is your thing, and outlet stores your destination, then it would be good do your homework.

Here are the details about the three main outlet malls in greater Orlando.

The Orlando Premium outlet on International Drive offers the shopaholic 180 stores, many of which are luxury brand outlets. We tooled in to this mall one day, and could not find a parking spot. Not one. It’s located at the end of International Drive, and is, itself, a warren out streets and parking lots. So, come early!
