We’ve likely all been to a flea market, some folks go regularly and to many of them, but… folks, you haven’t been to a flea market until you’ve been to the flea market in Webster Florida.
How about 1500+ vendors?
How about dozens of food outlets offering breakfast and lunches too numerous to mention. Funnel cakes, kettle corn, hot dogs ($1.00 each), burgers, baked corn, baked potatoes (sweet and regular), sausages, eggs & almost anything, all, of course, offered with a variety of ice cold beers.
How about fresh baking, garden-picked vegetables, oranges galore (of course), strawberries, and the newly picked, fresh and juicy tomatoes?
It’s Mondays only at the Webster Flea Market
We rolled to be at the site by 8:00 a.m. this Monday. Only missed that time slot by about 40 minutes! 🙂 Dang!
Note that the Webster Flea Market is only open on Mondays, year round, unless Christmas falls on a Monday. On that day, the flea market will be closed.
Getting there early allowed us to tour quickly, but having said that, after 3+ hours we only saw about half of the vendors and it wasn’t long before the crowds got quite thick.
It wasn’t too bad though. The place is huge, and there’s lots of areas to see things where the crowds are not too heavy.
Folks, if you haven’t been, you really need to visit this market. Oh, and though parking around the grounds will cost you $3.00 or $2.00 depending on how close to the market you are and how far you want to walk.
If you do not mind a short walk then just a couple of blocks away there is some parking on the street, and a large field clearly marked as no charge parking for folks going into the flea market – at least it was no-charge parking last time we were there. Your choice.
Bear in mind that it will almost impossible to see all the vendors at the Webster Flea Market without buying something, so if you’ve parked far away, remember that you have to carry what you bought.
This market has been operating in one form or another since 1937! Still going very, very strong today. As their brochure says, the little town of Webster Florida, with a population of just 700-800 on a normal day, will see 20-30,000 visitors at the flea market on the Monday. I know why.
